Stepping through the door of the Press House Café is really like stepping into another world. With the shelves packed from the roof to the floor with classic second-hand titles and numerous absorbing reads, you could easily lose track of time and spend your whole day there: bookworms you have been warned.
With the books sourced from various book fairs and brought in by locals, there is a pre-loved spine to suit every genre and taste. If you happen to find yourself falling in love with the words on the page, but don’t have enough time to finish, don’t fret because every book on those overflowing shelves is for sale.
So next time you’re looking for something to do, particularly if it’s one of those drowsy, raining days, consider heading in and sitting down with a delightful tasting pot of sticky chai (also available to purchase by the jar after you find yourself addicted) and cosying up into the lounges with a new found read.
The store is owned by Murray and Ivy Harries, who opened it while they were six months pregnant, giving them a crazy first step into the world of owning your own business, but they still love every second of it.
